Welcome to the Eastern Minor Hockey League (EMHL) 2020-2021
The EMHL is the home of competitive teams featured on this website.
The EMHL is an opportunity for the accomplished youth hockey player to experience great
competition, a robust, stable game schedule and minimized travel, while improving
his/her hockey skills.
This year the EMHL consists of only Mite Developmental division level.
There will be playoffs within each subdivision, with one or more teams advancing from these playoffs to the EMHL Championships for each division.

The Eastern Minor Hockey league has announced that the 2020 EMHL Championships scheduled for March
14-15 have been canceled.
While this was a difficult decision to make, this action is in the best interest of protecting the
health of all involved.

2019/20 EMHL Guidelines And Playing Rules
Mites - All games are twelve minute stop time periods
Penalties are: Minors are One and a half minutes, Major is Four minutes, Misconduct is Six minutes
All games are played under modified USA Hockey rules
Mite Developmental no scores will be submitted, it is suggested that the score of the game
is not kept on the clock unless both coaches agree to it prior to the game.
Squirt Minor through Midget Major - All games are three fifteen minute stop time periods
Penalties are: Minors are Two minutes, Major is Five Minutes, Misconduct is Ten minutes
All Games will be played under USA Hockey Rules.
All games shall have two officials assigned to each game, and a timekeeper (assigned by the home team)
All scores need to be reported no later than 12:00pm on Monday after the weekend they were played.
They should be scanned and emailed to emhl@nes.com. A clear picture from a cell phone is also acceptable.
Game Sheet Distribution: Winner gets the white copy; the losing team gets the yellow copy; and the pink copy is retained by the association
or team. It is the responsibility of each team to keep copies of your team's games. It is the responsibility of the winning team to report
the score to the EMHL office. In the event of a tie, it is the responsibility of the home team to report the score to the EMHL office.
Any adjustments to the EMHL schedule can only be requested by a Program Director.
Any and all game cancellations, including any due to weather, must be made through a Program Director and approved by the EMHL.
The following criteria will be used to determine final placement in the standings for round robin seedings and semi final positioning:
- Team with the most points
- If two teams are tied with the same amount of points, it will be determined by head to head competition based upon the regular season games
- If two or more teams are still tied with same amount of points and using head to head is out, final standings will be determined based upon the team with the highest winning percentage
- If teams are still tied, the next tie breaker will be least amount of goals allowed
